What is hosted digital signage? |
Narrowcasting,
out-of-home, indoor, digital signage. All names for a mutual concept, displaying
digital images onto screens and monitors.
These displays can hold texts, pictures, animations, movies, charts, etc. What they
all have in common is their feed from a central position and
a schedule module to determine what
information will be displayed when
and to
whom.
They can take on all kinds of forms such as timetables at airports,
promotional material in supermarkets, information panels in musea, ... but even
dashboard systems in companies, wayfindings in theatres and motivation displays
in factories are possibilities that can help your organisation function better with
up to date information.
Hosted digital signage is a software technology where we take care of the server
hardware and software. You upload a file to us and we get it distributed to your
clients. It can be compared with website hosting, but then for presentations. |

Are only Microsoft PowerPoint presentations supported? |
By using Microsoft PowerPoint you are using a wide-spread and easy tool to create
presentations with full multimedia capabilities.
In the near future we will also support files like movies and images so that you
can upload your MPEG movies to your Signage24 account and have them distributed
to your Signage24 players, without using Microsoft PowerPoint. Further file formats
will be considered in the near future. |

What software needs to be installed? |
At your design station you need of course Microsoft PowerPoint to create your multimedia
presentations. A web browser is used to upload and schedule your presentations.
Then at all computer systems, acting as a Signage24 player, you need to install
the small Signage24 player software next to the normal PowerPoint software. You complete the client installation by specifying
your Signage24 username and password. Afterwards the client software will download
all files and run your presentations at the time specified in the planning. |
